Nick Kyrgios picks Kooyong Classic for final AO preparationPosted on January 5, 2019
The 2019 Kooyong Classic is set to showcase more of Australia’s top tennis talent with the addition of Nick Kyrgios to a stellar men’s playing field, establishing itself as a premier destination for the world’s top players.
Kyrgios will use the Kooyong Classic for his final tune-up for the 2019 Australian Open.
Tournament director Peter Johnston is pleased to be able to welcome Kyrgios to the Classic noting, “with Del Potro withdrawing it created some room in our player field and then Nick was looking for some more match time to round out his AO preparation, so we were more than happy to oblige. We are looking forward to welcoming him down to Kooyong for the Classic, and hope it provides a springboard to a great 2019 Australian Open for him.”
Kyrgios joins World Number 6, Kevin Anderson and World Number 7 Marin Čilić, fellow Aussie Bernard Tomic and a host of other male and female stars at the Classic beginning next Tuesday 8th January at 11am.
The 2019 Kooyong Classic will be broadcast live and streamed online on SBS from 11 am to 4 pm on each day of the event.
