Australian Star Alex de Minaur To Open Melbourne’s Summer Of Tennis
Melbourne’s summer of tennis will kick off on Tuesday, with the Care A2+ Kooyong Classic returning to the calendar for the first time since 2020.
Among the names to take to the court this week are Australian star Alex de Minaur, Andy Murray, Marin Cilic, Linda Fruhvirtova, Taylor Fritz, Donna Vekic and Zhang Zhizhen.
de Minaur will open the Classic on Day 1 with a men’s singles match against Austria’s Dominic Thiem, followed by Coric and Dimitrov. Then the women’s singles match between Fruhvirtova and Vekic will take place, with Hijikata and Zhizhen rounding out the first day of play.

The 2023 Care A2+ Kooyong Classic will be the first held at the revamped Kooyong Lawn Tennis Club after a recently completed $18 million redevelopment.
This has returned the historically important stadium to its 1930s form. There have also been major upgrades to the clubhouse and around the Kooyong club site.

MATCH TIMES: Matches on centre court will begin at 11am each day. There will be four matches a day.
