KIDS & KOOYONG… THE PERFECT MATCHPosted on December 20, 2017
January 9 rolls around, it’s still school holidays and the kids are already tired of playing with their Christmas presents. They want more and we’ve got you covered.
The Priceline Pharmacy Kooyong Classic kicks off on January 9 at the Kooyong Lawn Tennis Club. Running for 4 days, it is great excuse to get the kids out and about without breaking the bank account. Given the rich history embedded not only in the event but the venue itself, think of this as a cultural excursion bettering the minds of our little ones… you just can’t go wrong!
Making it even more enticing, the event offers free entry for children 16 years and under. Watch some of the biggest names in tennis battle it out at the Kooyong Classic’s 30th tournament. For the history buffs in the stands, the ‘King of Kooyong’ himself and the winner of the inaugural tournament of 1988, Pat Cash, will also make cameo appearances throughout the week.
Future pros in the making
If our Mum’s out there haven’t had a minute to themselves since the holidays began, here’s a little something for you. Feel free to pamper yourself from top to toe at the Priceline Pharmacy Health and Beauty Lounge. Beauticians will be on hand offering makeovers and manicures with massage therapists to work out the kinks. Focused on sticking to your New Year’s resolutions? Head to one of the Health Stations and check your blood pressure, BMI and lots more.
Head to the Kooyong Common and treat yo’self while the kids hit it out on the Hot Shots tennis courts.
Tennis Hot Shots is a program designed to help every child, no matter their age or disability, jump in and start playing tennis. Played on smaller courts with modified equipment such as lighter racquets, lower nets and low compression balls, qualified Tennis Australia coaches will guide the kids every step of the way.
Get the kids to Kooyong and get amongst all there is to love about Melbourne in January and the summer of tennis.
