The 2018 Priceline Pharmacy Kooyong Classic celebrated its 30th anniversary in style this year by hosting five of the top 10 male players in the world, the first player born this century to play in a Grand Slam, the youngest player in the Australian Open and two of the all-time tennis greats who together have collected 28 Grand Slam titles.
This year guests got to experience this stellar line up which included World No.1 Rafael Nadal & Twelve-time Grand Slam champion Novak Djokovic who both proved crowd favorites with tennis fans young and old.
Melbourne turned on the sunshine (mostly) and the charm for this year’s event with the Pimms bar in the Kooyong Classic Common being popular between sets, along with live music, food trucks and interactive games.
In the men’s final; Pablo Carreno Busta defeated Australian Matt Ebden and became the second Spaniard to win the 2018 Priceline Pharmacy Kooyong Classic.
Later in the women’s final, young Swiss star Belinda Bencic defeated Andrea Petkovic in an evenly contested two-set match that was decided by a ten-point tiebreaker.
The Priceline Pharmacy Health and Beauty lounge was a huge hit with tennis fans. Hundreds of guests got to enjoy complimentary makeovers & massages throughout the festival – even ‘Home & Away star’ Ada Nicodemou didn’t miss out.
