|With a desire to showcase more forms of the game, the 2019 Kooyong Classic will include doubles play for the first time following the inclusion of a women’s competition in 2017 and 2018.
2017 Australian Open Doubles Champions, Kooyong’s own John Peers, and his Finnish partner Henri Kontinen, will compete along with other prominent doubles players to be announced.
The 2019 Kooyong Classic men’s field goes from strength-to-strength with the addition of France’s Richard Gasquet. A regular at the tournament, 2018 saw Gasquet secure his 15th ATP World Tour title, along with his 500th ATP World Tour main draw singles victory, to finish the year ranked 26th in the world.
He joins World Number 5, Juan Martin Del Potro, Number 6, Kevin Anderson, Number 7, Marin Cilic and Australia’s Bernard Tomic in the men’s field.
The 2019 Kooyong Classic will be broadcast live and streamed online on SBS from 11 am to 4 pm on each day of the event.

Richard Gasquet notched his 15th ATP tour win in 2018 with a successful campaign at the Rosmalen Grass Court Championships, finishing the year ranked 26th in the world. Amassing 500 ATP World Tour career main draw singles victories at Monte Carlo, the Frenchman is a stalwart of the game.
